The Nordic Cab is designed to grow with your family, offering functionality as a bike trailer, ski sled/pulk, stroller, jogger, or hiking companion. Its versatile design accommodates children from birth up to around 6-8 years old, depending on their height and needs.
The Nordic Cab Explorer comes well-equipped for various activities but can be customized with accessories like baby seats, wool liners, foot muffs, head support and many more to suit different ages and needs.

For Newborns (0–9 Months):
- The Nordic Cab can be used from birth, either with the addition of a baby seat (supporting up to 9 kg) or by adjusting the standard seat to a flat position. For optimal comfort, you may need to “snuggle” the seat with accessories like wool liners, a baby nest, or foot muffs. Many stroller accessories you already own can also work with the Nordic Cab.
- For ski sled/pulk use, carefully consider the weather, temperature, and trip duration. Always monitor your baby to ensure they remain warm and comfortable, and adjust the trip length as you would with a stroller.
For Babies and Toddlers (9 Months and Older):
- When using the Nordic Cab as a bike trailer, the child must be at least 9 months old and able to hold their head and neck up independently.
- EU bike trailer standards recommend keeping the seat angled, not reclined, and ensuring the back straps are securely tightened.
For Older Children (Up to 6-8 Years):
- The Nordic Cab offers plenty of room, with 71 cm from the bottom of the seat to the ceiling. Most children can comfortably use it until around age 6-8, depending on their height.
- As a ski sled/pulk, it’s particularly valuable for longer trips. While children aged 3–8 may want to ski themselves, having a place to rest in the sled can make outdoor adventures more enjoyable for everyone.
The Nordic Cab’s flexible design ensures your family can enjoy outdoor activities, from cross-country skiing and snowshoeing to biking and jogging, for years to come. If you have any specific questions about suitability for your child, feel free to contact us!
