Do I need an adapter for my Trek?
Yes – in most cases.
Modern Trek bikes often come with:
- 12 mm thru axle (not compatible with most trailer hitches)
- Or Trek’s own Thru Skew system
- Older models might use a 5 mm quick release

Technical Overview – What kind of axle does Trek use?
Trek bikes use a variety of axle types:
- 12 mm rear thru axle (thread pitch: M12x1.0, M12x1.5, or M12x1.75)
- 5 mm quick release (on older/hybrid models)
- Trek Thru Skew – unique to some Trek bikes
- Looks like QR
- Functions like a thru axle

Because Trek uses thru axles or Thru Skew systems, which don’t work with standard hitches.

How do I check which axle I have?
Remove the axle and check the size. Or send us a photo – we’ll figure it out for you.

What if I buy the wrong adapter?
If you’re ordering from outside Norway, we recommend contacting us before you order if you’re unsure. Just send us your bike details – we’ll help you get it right the first time.

Can I use the same adapter on a different bike?
Only if the axle type is exactly the same. We recommend one adapter per bike.
Is it safe for children or pets in the trailer?
Absolutely. Our adapters are precision-made and tested for strength and safety.
