While typical bike thieves may not be specifically targeting your Nordic Cab, it is still a valuable investment for your family. Unfortunately, from time to time, we receive feedback from customers who have had theirs stolen. This is, of course, unfortunate, but the good news is there are simple steps you can take to prevent it from happening to you.
Our impression is that these thefts are usually opportunistic, occurring when someone sees something left unlocked. The key to prevention is making it difficult for them to take your Nordic Cab.
On our site, we offer two affordable locks suitable for securing your Nordic Cab. These options are not heavy-duty FG-certified locks, which can be bulky and inconvenient, but instead lightweight, small, and easy to carry, making them ideal for most purposes.

Where to Lock Your Nordic Cab
It’s important to know where and how to lock your Nordic Cab properly. Here are some recommendations:
- Attach the lock to the frame: With the Safeman, you can secure it directly to the frame of the Nordic Cab.
- Use the handlebar: You can also lock through the handlebar.
- To a fixed object: Always secure your Nordic Cab to a fixed object, such as a bike rack, pole, or bench, to ensure that it can’t simply be carried away.
If you already use a bike chain or wire lock for your bicycle, consider using it to lock your bike and Nordic Cab together. Securing them both to a bike stand or another fixed object.
What to Do if Your Nordic Cab is Stolen
If your Nordic Cab is stolen, make sure to report it to the police. In many cases, if you’re traveling and the theft occurs away from home, your travel insurance may cover the loss. This applies even for short trips to the local park or grocery store, at least in Norway.
If your Nordic Cab is stolen from your home or property, the theft may be covered by your home insurance. Always check the terms of your insurance policies to be sure.
