Do I need an adapter for my Stöckli?
Yes – in most cases.
Modern Stöckli bikes often come with:
- 12 mm rear thru axle (on MTBs and e-bikes)
- Boost spacing on e-MTBs
- M12x1.5 or M12x1.75 thread pitch
- 5 mm quick release (on older or hybrid models)
If your trailer doesn’t fit, you likely need an adapter.

Why doesn’t my trailer fit my Stöckli bike?
Because many Giant bikes use thru axles, Boost spacing or internal gear hubs, which don’t fit standard hitches.
Which Stöckli bikes need adapters?
Almost all models – especially e-bikes and MTBs. This includes the e.t. Urban, e.t. Trail, e.t. Race, Cross Country, and Touring series. Most of these use 12 mm thru axles that require a specific adapter.
How do I check which axle I have?
Remove the axle and check the size. Or send us a photo – we’ll figure it out for you.
Is it hard to install an adapter?
Not at all! You just need a hex key and a wrench. No special tools.
Do your adapters work with all trailer brands?
Yes! Thule, Hamax, Burley, Nordic Cab, Croozer, Qeridoo and all other 2-wheeled bike trailers that is fixed on the frame hub part of the bikes.
What if I buy the wrong adapter?
If you’re ordering from outside Norway, we recommend contacting us before you order if you’re unsure. Just send us your bike details – we’ll help you get it right the first time.

Can I use the same adapter on a different bike?
Only if the axle type is exactly the same. We recommend one adapter per bike.
